Leg model creation for surgical simulation using Mvox

In a project on surgery simulation technology Morten Bro-Nielsen of the Technical University of Denmark needed a 3D model of the lower leg of the Visible Human Male.

Using Mvox, contours were first drawn in the original CT slices. These slices were then stacked on top of each other and combined into a 3D model.
