HT - PreOp Endoscopic Simulator
|
At HT Medical Systems Inc. I led the software
development for the PreOp Endoscopic surgery simulator for flexible
bronchoscopy. This simulator was part of a new generation of
commercial-grade surgical simulators that we developed during 1998 and
represented a revolution in terms of realism, price and performance.
The simulator presents an integration of multimedia
instructions and VR simulation that brings a new level of learning to the
medical student.
Highlights from the simulator:
- PC-based low-cost simulator
- High resolution computer graphics
- Surgical procedures such as biopsy - deformation,
tearing, blook, etc.
- Complex deformations for heart, lungs, vocal cords,
etc.
- A range of special effects for fogging, wet-look,
mucous, etc.
- Physiological models for respiration, heart-beat and
ECG.
Highlights from the multimedia:
- Extensive medical content.
- High quality graphics and images.
- Videos with explanations of procedures and
precautions.
- User database handling.
- Post-procedure evaluation.
