Ph.D. - Medical Image Registration and Surgery Simulation Mandibular growth for time registration of mandibles

In this project I developed a computer model of biological bone growth in the mandible. The purpose was two-fold:

• To prove that the biological model was reasonable, and
• To use the growth process to control non-rigid registration of time sequences of CT images of the same mandible.

The bone growth model was used to register these three CT images of the same mandible at different stages:
